Enlightment through writing

Challenge Day: 56

I woke up today with desire to write. So far I have finally caught up with some of the post I had started and didn't finish. Lately I've been really inspired by the things I read and hear. I love to write, it allows me to express myself and gives me peace. It's an escape for me. I began to wonder, though, can anyone write? Am I a write or do I have an ability that everyone has? Or can I really do something different? It comes pretty easy for me, and it's fun.

I have a dream to one day be able to write a book. The hardest thing for me is figuring out what I want to write about. I don't just want to write a book, I want to write a book that inspires and touches peoples lives, much like the ones I've been reading lately. I have recently realized that reading is knowledge, it's is such an enlightenment for the soul. There is never enough knowledge on any subject that one can have. I've never been much of a reader, but now it's like I thirst for knowledge about everything. My kids, my husband, God, life, it all matters so much to me and reading gives me insight and wisdom.

Words are so powerful, whether in a book or a song, words can really speak to someone and bring change, positive change. I am currently reading four books, which at one time I would have never even read four books in a decade, so I have to say that it's a huge accomplishment. Each book is on a different subject that I find a need for and is useful in my life. Sometimes I'll be going trough something that particular day and I read a chapter that has the answer or comforting words that I needed. Writings fill us with knowledge that helps us be better.

God not only speaks thorough the books I read but also through the music I hear. There are three songs that have really spoken to me lately. I used to think that it was absolutely silly when people said they were changed by a song. How can that be it's just words and music? But that's exactly it, the words. I have listened to the words of a song and felt God was speaking to me through them during times of trouble, hardship, pain, and doubt.
